A new Italian restaurant will be opening in the former 10th St. Italian space. According to the owner it will be nicer than 10th St. with more of an upscale feel. The owner is Steve from Maurizio's.
I use to like 10th Street Italian - but the owner was kind of wierd and arogant from when I met him in there - didn't like that factor.
Have to try the new place - good luck to them!

I really miss 10th St. Used to go all the time. Owner was a great guy, I wish it could have lasted longer.
I look fwd to trying the new place.

Great! I really miss 10th Street Italian. I used to hit it fairly often.STL63101 wrote:It was open today for breakfast, so I am assuming every day!
I ate lunch at Stefano's. The food (a pizza) was quite good. It's Napoli style, with thin bubbly crust. The menu is divided up between pasta, wraps, pizza, salad, meat dishes (chicken/beef), calzones, and quite a few desserts. The pizza was $8.95 (would be more with meat) and was enormous.
No more ordering at the counter; it's wait service only.
There is a lot of staff. In fairness, there was a big convention that filled almost every table today. Despite that, we were the second to place our order and first to receive food and it took almost half an hour. Don't go when you're in a rush.
I'll try again when it's less crowded, but the food was very good.

We ate there about a week ago for dinner. The pizza was AWESOME. One problem we saw... was their menu. They just have too many items on the menu and you just question what they are trying to focus on. I think one of their items were Chicken Fingers?!
In my opinion, they should advertise themselves as an upscale pizza establishment like PI.

I applaud them for the fact they are open late, Sundays and are really getting out advertising. They are also usually busy. ... oh wait, Schnucks is around the corner - they probably won't make it - HA . Ha. Ha. whatever.
Highly recommended for breakfast, as they're open early, including weekends!
The breakfast pizzas are amazing, but don't overlook the pancakes, omelets, biscuits and gravy, or other "standard" breakfast fare - freshly made, and delicious - even if it means you should go for a run afterwards.
I'm hopeful people frequent regularly for them to keep their open hours; as a neighborhood resident, it's much appreciated!

just got home from dinner at Stefano's, and wow, that's some great pizza. definitely going back.
I had lunch here on a whim two days ago, and it was awesome. I had canneloni and the wife had pizza, and both are highly recommended. Went at like 2:30 or so during the week, and there were at least three other tables full, (1/3 of the restaurant or so) and we got great service. We are definitely going back.
We have gone there a couple times now. It might be our new favorite place downtown due to the quality of the food. I even ventured out and tried their chicken tenders. They said they were hand breaded so I said why not. Well, who would have thought chicken tenders did not have to be greasy and actually taste good!
We'll definitely be going back soon. This isn't a dig. because I love the pizza, but isn't Stefano's pizza the same pizza as Maurizios?
No, the style of pizza at Stefanos is more gourmet.EmEyeZee wrote:We'll definitely be going back soon. This isn't a dig. because I love the pizza, but isn't Stefano's pizza the same pizza as Maurizios?
