While fire crews were working to contain the steam, they saw a facade fall off a building at 10th and Olive.
Wow, let's hope it was one of those crappy newer facades covering up some sweet historical facade, exposing it (undamaged) in all it's awesomeness causing some developer to say "dang, that's a sweet historical facade, I'm gonna renovate that building".

I don't think it was a newer facade. That corner has both AT&T Buildings on it as well as part of the Omni Hotel

Is it the building with Jack Patrick's? I really like that one!

So was this Olive or Pine? My guess is actually Olive. Crossed Olive yesterday on 11th, they had Olive blocked off. Didn't think much of it at the time, of course. Any downtown building damage is a shame right now, most buildings are more likely to see demolition than major repairs. The Laclede's Landing repair last year was a huge relief. From the lack of coverage on this event though, seems like damage wasn't that substantial.

Update: according to Christopher Newbold via Twitter "saw a facade fall off" actually equates to some bricks fell off of the Bell Telephone building (Bailey's Range). So sounds like another geographically and architecturally ignorant story from our local media web teams.
