Don't forget about the Washington Avenue Music Fest being billed as the best block party of the summer. It runs on Saturday from 11 AM - 11 PM.

^Yes, and St. Louis's greatest rock band, Team Tomato, will be playing on the stage at the Wash Ave Musicfest.
There's also One River Mississippi on Saturday at 7pm on Eads Bridge.

I think you've answered your own question. PRIDEfest....

Think homosexuals, and you're on the right path. St. Louis' pridefest is one of the largest in the country. It's really quite remarkable, every year TGH (my nabe) gets overrun with cars. It's impossible to find a parking place.
Also, Jive, I'll see you there. At Atomic Cowboy, not Pridefest.

Ahhh Indeed
What does one do at Pridefest?
Oh come on, you guys! Don't tell me you're afraid of Pridefest? There's probably just as many straight folks there as gay. It really is the biggest party in town this weekend. Give it a shot! (After the Washington Av Music Fest, of course.)
I think Pridefest is a blast, I've been going for years, and I'm straight. Adventure out this weekend!

I would've liked to attend the three major events listed here (STyLe's Summer Breakout Party, Pridefest, and the Saint Louis Jazz Festival). However, I'm coordinating a major event of my own, however, as my son's third birthday is today. (Funny thing is, I never thought of birthday parties as major events until my wife and I became the ones doing the planning.)
I hope the WashAve Music Festival is much more of a success than last week's block party. I think my humble abode will have more people in it today than I saw on the streets listening to bands last Saturday.
Anyway, I think it would be a good idea to start posting events like this to this forum each week. (Especially since DTSTL isn't exactly the best at getting the word out on events that may be of interest to most forumers!)

^ And I've been wearing your t-shirts everywhere I go!
Some lesbians asked me about the South City shirt last weekend at Novak's...

Ahhh Indeed Embarassed No wonder i've never heard of it
What does one do at Pridefest?
Good question. Pretty much like any other festival but geared specifically to celebrate the gay community and its contributions. Music, food, friends, vendors, art, nonprofits sharing what they do, being a part of something larger than oneself. Live musical performance, speakers, political stuff. Mayor usually makes an appearance. Alot of fun--and no--you dont have to be gay to go and have a good time.
