Did anyone see the show last night? I didn't know about it until today. It will replay tonight at 1:30AM Eastern Time on the Food Network , but that is way past my bedtime.

Premise of show: Will the restaurant succeed? Boxing promoter decides to throw all the punches to open retro diner in St. Louis. He sells his house, convinces his parents to throw their retirement savings into the ring.

I've been to the Royale bar before, though I didn't eat anything. It was doing pretty good business for a late weekday night. Very nice atmosphere and beer selection. I drank my first Greisedieck there. It's not the best beer, but does good for the family name. Much better than Lemp Beer IMO. 12:30 is past my bedtime too.

There is a show called "All-Star BBQ Showdown" on OLN where the best BBQ chefs from around the country face off to be crowned the best BBQ chef in America. Last week, a Kansas City espisode aired, where Terry Black, from O'Fallon, MO (friend of my Dad's) competed against two other chefs. He won. You can catch him again on 9/18/2005 at 10:00 pm - 10:30 pm (EST I'm guessing). It will be in Bentonville, AR. Then he will appear on another Kansas City episode on 10/2/2005 at 10:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Depending on how he does in his next two competitions, he may appear in the finals on 10/2/2005 at 10:30 pm - 11:00 pm, and 10/9/2005 at 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

I was at the Royale on Friday - good eats, and a lot of nice-looking women there.

What building is the Royale in? I am trying to picture it. The way I remember that corner is a high school on the SW corner, TG Park on the NE corner, used car lot on the SE corner, and I can't remember the NW corner. Please refresh my memory.

It is on the same corner as th used car lot, except it is not really on the corner. It is more like half a block down towards Home Depot. As for the NW corner, a Walgreens was built there a few years ago.
