^ & ^^ Thanks for reposting. Great news for STL, have been hoping for STL-Germany much more than STL-LHR. Assuming this holds on, of course. We'd all surely prefer an official announcement, hope the leak doesn't become a detriment to this actually happening. Plus, I'd hate to be Councilman Fitch right now. Whoops.

It’d be sooooo STL if Fitch’s premature ejaculation derailed negotiations with the Germans.

If it’s true that an official announcement is tomorrow than I doubt an errant tweet will throw things off.

Guess we’ll see.

I took a Lufthansa 747 Frankfort to Toronto once. Cuz Rome-Frankfort-Toronto-STL made so much sense! :D

Woohoo! I know a lot of you preferred a flight to the continent instead of London and you got your wish!

Curious to hear what equipment they will use.

Pretty sweet!

But now I think it'd be pretty great to get a flight to London as well!

Great news. For someone like me who wants to go to Germany to see where my family came from, this will make it easier. Even if it doesn’t go to a city like Berlin, Frankfurt or Hamburg, Germany has that robust intercity high speed rail network. No doubt that Cologne and Düsseldorf would be good cities to fly into, but some out there might not realize how those cities do have train connections to the other cities.

Great news for STL. But is there really a chance it's not Frankfurt or at least Munich?

Honestly, if it's not FRA this news is way less exciting.

Does Lufthansa code share with United? I know they are both in star alliance but not sure how it works for booking a flight.

It does. I’ve booked with United to London via Chicago and the plane was Lufthansa

Why is there like one plane at a gate on the Google Maps image of Frankfort Airport? Eerie.
