^ if we triple our transit usage, which would put us top 5 nationally in usage...we would still have 82% of the region driving, so any finance package will be majority roads and bridges. No new roads and bridges, just replacing the current system.
City has so many horrible roads and bridges on the city system (not MoDOT system)

Improved development patterns could allow us to reduce driving even without reducing the driving population, and transit could be a factor in that improvement.

Wish Clayton Rd, a county maintained road, between Big Bend and city limits would get a resurface. It's a mess. I think it's on the STIP list.

For already built infrastructure, we should have a revenue stream to cover expected maintenance and eventual replacement. It's predictable. Staggering out replacements smooths out the costs. Meanwhile try to get the most out of it by promoting more productive land uses beside it and discouraging unnecessary VMT that does more damage to the infra without commensurate economic activity.

I think bonding should be for expansions where the dividends of the new economic activity supported by it are meant cover the bonds. And try to figure out whether it really will cover the costs, not just wishful thinking. Add in other benefits/negatives to decide whether it's worth it.

this is the STIP- MoDOTs Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (link above is the STL district) its what MoDOT will do from July 1 2016 to 2019 (+2020 and 2021 but most of that isnt programmed yet)

but since Clayton is a county maintained (as he says) it wont be in the STIP, it will be in the TIP if it got federal $
TIP is a regional project list development by East West Gateway that has all projects by cities, counties, modot, idot, metro, grg ect that use federal $ but the next 2017-2020 plan is not out for draft yet.

Yes, must be the EWG TIP. A sign of a problem that the county needs federal help to maintain Clayton methinks, though part of the fed $ comes from gas taxes paid by drivers on the road so you could view it that way.

^ not a sign at all, just a way to get 80% of project cost. County throws many projects in the hat at EWG
