^^ I now realize we’re talking about the same facility in St. Chuck lol. I’d like to edit my post to reflect that, but the ability for me to edit posts on the mobile version has disappeared again.
CVS has acquired 99 of 110 Schnucks pharmacies and will rebrand them as CVS pharmacies. The remaining 11 Schnucks pharmacies will close, including one in Kirkwood and their prescriptions will be transferred to other nearby CVS'.

Honestly, they should close the Schnucks Hampton Village Pharmacy too. Target across the street already has CVS so putting one that close seems redundant.
People are pretty upset about the CVS / Schnucks Pharmacy news. Apparently CVS has a bad customer relations and a terrible labor record? Apparently Schnucks pharmacies are usually a pretty cheap option too. Luckily I haven't had to use a pharmacy in 5 years.
I’ve had cheaper perscriptions at CVS over Walgreens. Never used schnucks. Biggest gripe with CVS is their texts and calls about refills get annoying and happen way too often. I’ve considered changing just for that reason.
^ I use CVS for my prescriptions and had those options deactivated. I don’t ever receive calls or texts about refills. They’ll turn them off for you if you ask.
Slight update on this from the PD. FedEx will close this facility in anticipation of a new, nearly 500,000 square foot facility that is due to open in St. Peters this summer. That facility will employ nearly 300 part and full time workers. FedEx is also exploring even further expansion of their New Town facility. They've even already applied for permits, but those are still working their way through St. Charles government. So not to worry, this has absolutely nothing to do with Indy...or KC. Just further large expansions in St. Louis and consolidation of some facilities due to the growth of e-commerce. Pretty standard stuff for a company in this industry.DogtownBnR wrote: ↑Mar 04, 2020Biz Journal is reporting FedEx is closing it's local facility costing
125 jobs. I would guess since they are doing a massive
expansion in Indy, the jobs could be heading there.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that facility is massive and close to STL.
This is disappointing nonetheless.

STL Business Journal: Small Lambert airline to shut down April 1, report says
Trans States Airlines, which already was planning to cease operations later this year, will apparently shutter at the end of this month. Travel news source "The Points Guy" reported it has read an internal memo by TSA's CEO. With United cancelling its routes (that TSA depends on), the company will shut down ahead of schedule, crediting their early demise to the "unforeseen impact of the coronavirus".

Anyone with an idea what the Biz journal article is referring too? Behind paywall and not sure if being discussed on a different thread. Of course 909 Chestnut could be had at a fraction of the cost.

“The credit reporting agency is aiming to build a 300,000-square-foot office property along Interstate 64 in west St. Louis County or near the I-270/64 corridor to consolidate its Workforce Solutions division.”
The article headline is super misleading. The division is a billion dollar business, not the project.

agree on the article title. Does beg the question of a legitimate news source, is the journalist or editor that bad at reading comprehension and or they just that shameless when comes to use of words. Unfortunately in my opinion it has come down to that. Why respect journalism when you get that kind of garbage day in and day out.

I would be okay with this error if it was a breaking report and/or few details were known. However, most details are known including who bid which leads me to believe this is entirely click bait.
This firm is too small to relaunch 909 imho but it would be big enough for a sizable tower at BPV

in defense of journalists, i think most would be more than happy to write straightforward headlines and devote time to ample research if they had the option. instead, they're forced to churn out garbage for clicks in order to maintain their jobs.
^ I’m inclined to agree with both of you. But pretty much every city’s business journal is owned by the same company...including ours. It’s literally all clickbait...as is the BJ in KC, Omaha, NYC, Chicago, and dozens of others. They’re all churning out sh*t for clicks.
While the headline was clickbait, it is true that Equifax is looking to consolidate their nearly billion dollar “crown jewel” office (the STL division leads the company in growth, hence the reason Equifax considers it the crown jewel) into a single building. Unfortunately it won’t be downtown or in the city limits. The only site specifically mentioned was the half a billion dollar development in Chesterfield. Outside of that the I-64 corridor was mentioned as was the I-270 corridor around I-64.

^ I haven't heard their plans company wide but I wouldn't be surprised. PD is now reporting it's over 2,000 in St. Louis though:

100,000 work for Enterprise, so that would mean they're laying off the entire company. Seems unlikely.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Apr 29, 2020Ive heard they're laying off 100,000 company widesc4mayor wrote: ↑Apr 29, 2020Enterprise just laid off 1,200.

^Hertz is apparently BK so don't speak too soon. (JK with regard to Enterprise. Hopefully they aren't that levered)

My uncle worked in IT and was laid off on March 23, and permanently terminated a couple weeks ago with 10 weeks of severance pay. They seem to be using this as an excuse to make long-term reductions.
Charter/Spectrum will add over 550 new jobs in IT, customer support, sales and some other divisions in St. Louis:
