This will sound bad.

But I didn't even know this newspaper existed until today when I stumbled across their building.

I can't find a website, just this wiki article:

St. Louis Argus is an African American-oriented weekly newspaper founded in 1912 by brothers J. E. and William Mitchell. The Argus is the oldest continuous black business in St. Louis, Missouri.

I guess that's their office at Martin Luther King Drive. It has a banner in the window anyway.

I know this sounds bad. I never even knew it existed.

Interesting.

It doesn't sound bad at all... Most people haven't heard of it.

I hadn't heard of it either--and I read the St Louis American. I didn't know there was another AfAm newspaper.

Why does that sound bad?? Even if you were black and living in the city, it's still an obscure alternative newspaper.

I remember the Argus "broke" the story that St Louis Public Schools were using the Scientology-associated "training" center in N County to send teachers for training. Didn't hear anything related in other StL newspapers for a long time after that.
