Mount Sinai Church will break ground next week on Phase II of a pretty ambitious residential project on vacant land... 30 were built recently and are 100% occupied and 30 more will be part of Phase II:

The goal is for 200 homes eventually.

I know this is nothing but a pipe dream, but I'd love to see all of those vacant run down tall building restored into apartments. The fact that there are FANTASTIC views of downtown St. Louis and nothing on the Illinois side still amazes me.

Thats terrific news for ESTL and i agree with you Chaifetz i love to see some heavy investment go into downtown ESTL and maybe eventually a streetcar line going there as well it would be so awesome to see our neighbor come to life instead of being in coma for all these decades...

Those are pretty decent looking. The Tudor is unexpected for east St. Louis. It'll look different, that's for sure!

Is the Broadview Hotel still slated for redevelopment into senior and veteran apartments?

It'd be nice to see a few residential development projects in downtown East St. Louis.
