Agree with taxing short term rentals but not specifically for that purpose.

Clayton feeling the build-abandon-build-abandon rip tide. Is DT Clayton in a doom loop?

Its wild to me that our stupid court system could somehow allow Clayton to have banned STRs for years but STL's regulations are a bridge too far.

Apparently the court allowed the city's regulations to go forward, just without the fees, back on June 9 but the city has neglected to actually start enforcing them.

We are literally the only major city in America to not have regulations on short-term rentals and it's not because the BOA hasn't approved regulations and it's not because a judge said no.

Well the fees probably paid for the enforcement, no? Even though many cities you mention have airbnb regulations, they also have struggled to enforce them.

Pretty sure the enforcement would be placed upon the building inspectors. Not sure how $150 fees would fund anything.

^Would the fees help to pay for the overtime and extra hires required for inspectors to inspect the rentals and enforce the regulations? Where does the extra pay come from if you can't collect fees? From my property taxes?
