I spent most of the weekend in St. Louis. I snagged a good last minute hotel deal, and I was itching for more photography, but have photographed KC to death. It's always fun to take what I've learned about photography through trial and error in my KC photos and then apply it to photography of other cities. I think there will be four threads total. Here is the first.

Here's me taking a picture of a mirror in my hotel room ....

This is one of my favorites...

Great shots.

That St. Louis Centre is such an eyesore. I can't wait to see it gone.

I'm only able to view the first 2 images, the rest show up as the dreaded red X. I like the shot of the GenAm building however... I love that building!

edit: Nevermind, they show up now. Great shots!

Simply stunning, Toss. Better, I think, than your first set of downtown. Wonderful shots, my favorite being the shot looking west down Locust.

The city garage to the north of the Wainwright building and south of the 705 building looks hideous. Obviously garages usually do, but this one looks worse than the Kiener and Stadium garages. right in the middle of two highrises designed by Louis Sullivan. oh well...

I agree those stadium garages are an affront to all things noble about the built environment. I don't hate Kiener quite as much since they at least have sidewalk level businesses/restaurants.

Your photo's should be used to market how beautiful our city is.... All we would need to do is photoshop in a few pedestrians and walah!

Great shots, compositions, colors, all around.

The parking lots on both sides of Washington at 11th Street really irk me...

VOILA! Har.

:D

Yes, very nice. I really like the shot looking west on Olive. Strangely absent though. It really is night and day when it comes to weekday-weekend pedestrian traffic. I just walked that stretch and it was mobbed as usual. Some day..............(stares wistfully off into the distance).

Yeah, one of these days I'll try to go in the middle of the week instead of the weekend. But, downtown St. Louis was really hopping on Saturday evening (these pics were late Saturday morning).
