I was told around 50 or so new seats will be in the new space and it should be open with in the next couple of weeks. I love Rooster!! Best slinger and crepes intown.
^ that is correct. The salon next door is moving i believe and construction/interior decoration is steadily on its way. Luckily, i live a few blocks away and walk to rooster on weekends. Their Slinger may be the single greatest invention ever... if you like a: getting heart attacks or b: curing monster hangovers. Staff is super friendly too. If i had enough money/ and pant sizes, a perfect day would include rooster, sent thai, and the tea room for scones in the afternoon ( i am from england)
Maybe Dunkin' Donuts will be here sooner than we think. Did anyone else see the large ad in the Business Journal stating Dunkin' Donuts franchise opportunities were available in St. Louis? That would be great news!
My girlfriend went to Rooster with her coworkers last week and loved it. We went back for lunch today so I could give it a try.
I had the creamed spinach crepe and she had the breakfast burrito crepe. I opted for the bloody mary and she had a vanilla latte. We shared the Nutella crepe with bananas.
The creamed spinach crepe was very good as was the bloody mary. I've never found a bloody mary I didn't like but this one seemed especially good. The breakfast burrito crepe wasn't my taste but it wasn't bad either. The latte had very good flavor but was served a little on the cold side. The Nutella crepe with banana did not disappoint.
The service was excellent and the atmosphere had that "genuine cafe", non-commercial feel. Overall the experience was excellent and I recommend anyone who hasn't tried this place to do so.
Finally returning to St. Louis over Easter, Rooster is my very top pick for where I have to eat while I'm back visiting. While Charlotte has mostly improved my food tastes (for example, I can't eat another blue box of mac, when the real stuff has soul), I've sorely missed living near a true creperie.
It seems like Rooster has done a good job of hooking up with the downtown hotels to get people pointed towards there for breakfast. Any time I'm there it seems like there's a lot of out-of-town visitors coming in.
Last time are at Rooster a family from Michigan was finishing up and asked if we were local and which was better to visit: The Zoo or the Botanical Garden. Another table overheard us and they said they were visiting from Florida and looked for inexpensive places to go after the Brewery Tour to eat. I wrote down Feraros, Chavas, McGurks and Tuckers.
Then again: Rooster is about the only non-hotel breakfast option downtown.
Walked by at 10:30am today. Was amazed to see the place packed, inside and outside, on a Wednesday. I know the weather is great and Cardinals are playing a day (a lot of people we wearing Cardinal gear) but it's good to see them drawing great business.
