Road Diet/Bike Lane in North City

I have noticed on North Broadway (I don't know if it is the entire stretch) that they closed a lane in each direction. They simply moved the solid white line in a lane and marked it a bike lane. Some stretches are a full car lane wide while others are regular bike lane width and did not incorporate any turning lanes at lights. It's a mess and some people continue using it as a regular lane. It's especially bad at stop lights where some will make a right turn from the middle lane (now the right lane) while others will fly down the bike lane to turn. Also saw this on W florissant too.

Anyone know what the plan is here? Is this the final product or just an intermediate step?

Bike St. Louis Phase III

Both North Broadway and West Florissant are getting road diets to make room for buffered bike lanes.

I looked through the plans and don't see a detailed enough schedule. I'm fine with the bike lanes and road diet since those two roads don't see nearly enough traffic to warrant 3 lanes each but the execution is terrible. I'm hoping that they are still working on it and will improve the intersections and mark the buffer zone more prominently so that people don't continue using them as a regular lane. I think people get confused by the large empty lane. I even saw a city bus driving down the bike lane.
