KC used to have Qdoba but KC has so many real Mexican places from every region of Mexico that it views places like that to be too gringo. KC does have a lot of Chipotle though and also Freebirds from W Coast, which STL does not have.

A few other things KC has is Microsoft store, Moosejaw and a few other exclusives on The Plaza. KC had Costco before STL did, STL had Trader Joes before KC. KC used to have Saks but is outdated compared to Halls. KC got a Michael Kors store then STL later. It's not a big deal.

Both cities eventually get what the other has. STL will eventually get Ikea. Who is the one with inferiority complex here.

STL has a Microsoft store at the Galleria. Here's the link: http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/news ... store.html

So STL recently added Microsoft, though it looks like a holiday store. Overland Park has a permanent one, with classes. Like I said, both cities eventually get the same things. KC's Plaza does have a lot standards like H&M, B&N and Banana Republic that build flagship class stores like Michigan Ave, compared to mall class. Plaza has Standard Style and some boutiques from E Coast like Free People and others I can't think of. KC has a couple Lego stores, STL will probably get one within a year.

^ They really have a small number of stores considering. So not surprised it took a while for one to pop up nor has Lego had strong financials in recent years. What I'm surprised about was the fact that Santa could get a lego for myself, I mean for my 7 seven yr old boy cheaper through Amazon/ToysRUs then their flagship website.

What I would be interesting to know or at least to me, how much competition was there between the mall owners to land this lease? This store will draw families with income to spend.

I imagine the Galleria would have wanted this store -- "where the best stores have their best store" -- but I can see the young family demographic pulling it further west.

There are a couple shots of a tesla showroom in the article. Would be cool to see one go in at the galleria or Frontenac.

Just read that KC (KS side) is getting a Title Nine (www.titlenine.com) - upscale womens sporty/lifestyle clothing retailer. I think most of their stores are located West, but there are some in Chicago, Madison, WI, etc. Northern Cal/Colorado/PacNW sporty sort of vibe; would be nice to get such as store in StL.
