^^^ This building will be known as "Plaster" in honor of Robert W. Plaster, and will offer a Free Enterprise Center in the neighborhood and on campus.  Ranken staff will teach and manufacture technology on site.

This is big for the region.   Did the google search thing and see that 31 to 37% of the population has a 4 yr college degree to has/seeking a degree depending on how  you break out age groups.   At some time, think there was a drop in enrollment during covid and seeing a gap in what is need as for jobs.  But still, believe the workforce need for 4 yr college degrees is still below 50%.

So where I'm going with this is that US has and still needs a big of low skill, skills and trade crafts on immense skill.   Especially if we continue to build the economy with immigration.   Regions that can support Ranken type development, maintain good community college and vocational programs will keep & build a stronger workforce.  Sometimes I feel that is lost on my educated peers but for me in the contracting & construction biz the need for trades, crafts is immense.   Nor do people realize how good of a living you can make in the trades or machinist, so on.

^ With the trade-off being you more or less destroy your body by the time you're 40.

Hopefully there's a good focus on automation, especially in construction technology.

My dad has done manual labor since he was a teenager. He's in his 60s and probably better shape than guys that are 40 and sit behind a desk all day.

As it relates to goat314 comments, we have significant amount of manual labor on our projects but this day and age no one should be lifting anything over 50 lbs if that or need to old school pummel their bodies to perform the work..
