Per South Grand Business District, planning is getting underway for a pocket park to replace the small parking lot between Mangia and King and I.

Why? I mean it's good, but it seems that a corner park on the lot across the street might make more sense.
Great news! Puts one in the win column for pedestrians.
The courtyard in The Loop used to be such a great center of activity before it became a glorified patio for Market Pub House - drum circles, stoners, skaters, buskers, it was great. Hopefully this does something similar for South Grand.

This lot was selected b/c its already city owned and will keep costs down. Its true that the east side of S. Grand has more holes in it, and hopefully the new pocket park adds momentum to the district where we get more commercial development infill. I also look forward to the day where the old Commerce Bank gets a quality redevelopment.Alex Ihnen wrote:Why?
