I don’t love the idea of being monitored from the sky in my own neighborhood, but I guess we are all being monitored / tracked pretty closely anyway. If it makes a meaningful impact on safety, I guess go for it.

My prediction is much the same outcome as Shot Spotter though.

In the context of a film maker with no experience whatsoever in the field of PAS, no
In the context of a professional organization with experience like the 432nd Wing of the  United States Air Force, yes

There’s also no constitutional right to a cell phone but those users have rights to take pictures or videos in public. 10 people could walk around Gravois Park right now recording every interaction. IMO the surveillance state is already here, with or without drones.

I’m open to having my opinion changed but right now I feel the cost of compromising additional privacies (if any) is minimal enough to remain open to innovation. I prefer real eyes on street but I’ll take anyone who can call 911 in the event of an emergency.

Everyone and their mother already has Ring doorbells and flood cameras in the alley back of their houses.

I think it comes down to how oversight is implemented. Some sort of warrant system for tracking and recording individuals. Data stored and backed up on civilian locations that can't "disappear" when in 15 years it turns out that the mayor had his wife/political opponent tracked.

We need a few neighborhoods to beta it. What if overall crime and crime conviction rates improved drastically? What % improvement would make it worth the obvious privacy, big brother, big data, etc concerns?

Anyone know how effective neighborhood crime cameras are? Those ones with the blinking blue and red lights?

I’m going to go watch Enemy of the State. 🎥
