I just wanted to get a quick pet peve out of the way. I really get annoyed when people say, "I'm from O'Fallon." So, which one, Illinois or Missouri? Maybe you're speaking of the neighborhood, for all I know. Usually, this means they're from the St Charles County suburb . I know the Missouri suburb is bigger, and they're both sickly suburban, but seriously, specify. I mean, it's not that hard to add a little MO at the end. Is it?

And, 25,000 for the Illinois town isn't rediculously small. I'm thinking I might start to say "My parents live in O'Fallon," (meaning the one in Illinois) just to confuse people . You know? Just for statement?

As a current resident of O'Fallon, Missouri, I totally understand. The same should go for Troy and Columbia. Growing up in Mexico, Missouri, I knew to add the state after the town.........I'd get really strange looks by telling people I was from Mexico (at 12,000+ people, it's technically the largest city of that name in the U.S.).

I was watching the news the other night and someone used the phrase 'Mo-fahl-in' for O'Fallon, Mo. Since both towns are pretty recognizable to many in the area to differeniate b/w them in conversation we should call O'Fallon, IL 'Ill-fahl-in'.
