I noticed as I was driving on 40 last week that the ground has been set and dirt has been moved for a new O'Fallon Auto Mall near Highway K next to two hotels. There is a sign that says two lots left. Anyone know which car brands are going to be sold there (Chevy, Toyota, Lexus, Volvo?) and which dealer group (Lou Fusz, Jay Wolfe, Superior?) are building dealers there?

Also, is that new prototype Aristocrat Mercedes Benz dealer going to this location or somewhere else?

I live adjacent to this site, and I often go running on Technology Dr. (the new outer road). I'll keep you posted as I find anything out. However, I believe I saw an ad in the St. Louis Business Journal either last week or the week before showing that 3 or 4 of the spots had been taken. It mentioned names, but I don't remember the specifics.

thanks Chesterfieldkid! :)

Looks like I got two of the brands that are going to be sold there right (Chevy and Volvo). :P

I wonder does the "AVAIL" on that site map mean another, but smaller dealership will go up in that parcel. Also that back lot for Honda and Chevy they can build two more buildings. Its hard to zoom in on that pdf, can't read some of it if you zoom in.

Any word on where the Benz dealer is going?

I'd like to see some higher end car dealers goto St. Charles such as BMW, Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, Audi, Infiniti, Jaguar. Though it doesn't hurt to see another Toyota dealer in St. Charles.:)

When do you think is the expected opening date for this Auto Mall?

I am still not sure as to where the Mercedes Benz dealer is going to be located. I think the Auto Mall should be ready for business in 16-18 months

I haven't been out to the O'Fallon area since mid-September. Anything else going on in terms of construction or new car dealers? Any word, on the Mercedes Benz dealer and others like Lexus?

Also what is that building they building next to the Cracker Barrel? Is that the new St. Johns Mercy? How many floors? Last time I saw an elevator shaft and it was 5 floors...

As far as the O'Fallon Auto Mall, the dealerships I have seen as being a part of the project are Frank Leta Honda, Jim Trenary Cheverolet, and some Volvo dealership. I saw this in an advertisement in each week's St. Louis Business Journal. It looked like there are a couple lots left to be leased.

On the subject of what's being built next to Cracker Barrel..... it is a hospital. I'm not sure how tall or how many beds it is suppose to have, but I believe it's suppose to be called Progress West. It's either part of the BJC or SSM system....... I'll have to check on that. When I go running, I run by both sites, so I'll try to get some answers to your questions.

Also, there have been a lot of new business that have opened in this area. A new restaurant called Joey's Seafood and Grill opened in early October, and a Ruby Tuesday opened this week. Two new hotels opened a couple of months ago.......... a Country Inn and Suites and a Staybridge Suites.

I talked to the manager of the Plaza Lexus earlier today, he mentioned to me that Plaza is considering building a complex similar to the one they have in Creve Coeur in O'Fallon/St. Charles. He said they are planning on selling Lexus, Acura, and Audi (trying to get the franchise right now)...not sure about others.

He said that Aristocrat Mercedes Benz dealer will be built around Hwy K and 40 and also mentioned that Auto mall with the Chevy, Honda, and Volvo dealers being built.

Anyone know more about Plaza's plans? It would be really nice to see these luxury car dealers in St. Charles. :)

A few years back when I was buying my car up at Plaza they told me they were going to move the Audi/Porsche dealer into the Chesterfield Valley. They were thinking about moving their Lexus dealer a few miles down the road on Olive. Creve Coeur would not let them build the Lexus dealer where they wanted too, so they deicied to build a new on their campus, move the BMW line into the old Lexus showroom and do a complete re-haul of the Mercedes Benz showroom. They also decided to keep the Audi/Porsche lines there so they could keep their unique upscale showroom campus. As far as St. Charles, I haven't heard any plans for Plaza over there, but it wouldn't suprise me as it is such as great and underserved market for upscale cars. I have to get my car serviced next month at Plaza, and I will talk to my guy and see what he knows, he is usually pretty good!

I was just out running this afternoon and saw a new Mercedes Benz dealership under construction on Technology Dr. It's located across from the CitiMortgage office building and a little east of the new Progress West hospital. There has also been a lot of work done on the O'Fallon Auto Mall on the other side of Hwy. K along I-64. Next to that, in front of the two new hotels, there's a building going up...... I believe it is a J. Buck's restaurant. Oh, and there's a sign for a new Starbuck's coming soon on Hwy. K across the road from QT, and something just started construction just north of the Arby's (but there's no sign yet).

Wow, a Mercedes dealership in O'Fallon? Sounds good to me. I would love a J. Buck's out here, those are great places to eat. I cannot wait for the Starbuck's, thought I prefer heading up to Picasso's in that Winding Woods Plaza.

I drove by this area on Saturday on my way to Kansas City and saw a sign and picture of the new facility that says Soave Automotive Mercedes Benz Spring 2006. Also, I noticed that the O'Fallon auto mall there isn't any building activity there yet, just equipment. I am guessing late May or early June the Mercedes dealer will be open. :)

Well I don't mean to kick this old thread back to life, but I drove past the Auto Mall today and the Honda dealership is looking pretty close to completion. It's the only one that stood out to me (due to it being bright blue), but I'm sure the other dealerships are right along with it.

A little update to m2tbone's previous post, the J Buck's has been open for at least three or four months now. Progress Point Mercedes is up and running strong. I believe it's the largest Mercedes-Benz dealership in Missouri. The Starbucks just opened up about three weeks ago, and I'm still awaiting their Wi-Fi connection. The construction just north of Arby's is a Jiffy Lube. It's a very nice place too, a nice break from almost every other instant oil change place around. I highly recommend it.

This whole area is where I spend half my days. I work two jobs right in the vicinity, so it's nice to be able to see all this higher-quality development build up around me.

Just wanted to add a few tidbits about the area. A Maggie Moo's is opening soon next to Starbuck's, and the new construction just north of that that building is suppose to be a Kitaro Bistro of Japan restaurant. I first saw the sign/rendering for that yesterday. Things certainly do change fast around here.

Initially I was under the impression that this was a second location for Frank Leta Honda. However, it looks like the plan is to close the current Frank Leta Honda on St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton and relocate the dealership here. Does anyone know Leta's plans for sure?

I saw Mercedes-Benz @ Progress Point on a return trip from Columbia a couple of weeks ago. I must say, it's quite impressive, especially the mural on the back showroom wall featuring cars from M-B's storied history, which is visible through the showroom's all-glass front elevation. I've heard they have great services and perks for customers, so they should compete well with Plaza and Tri-Star Motors.

Speaking of Plaza, I wonder if anyone's heard more about their plans for this area.

I remember reading an article two months ago in the Post about Leta's plans. His current dealer's lot and showroom is smaller than the new facility in O'Fallon, but also the growth in that area of St. Charles made him decide to move over there. Larger lot and showroom! I think it also said Jim Trenary is moving his Chevy dealer there next year from its current location under the water tower, same intention as Leta. Now Noco will be without a Honda dealer! I wonder who will take its place, also I noticed driving on 270 there is a new Mazda dealer built near the Saturn dealer called "Planet Mazda"?

I am still anxious to see who takes the two parcels left at that auto mall.

I haven't been out that way in awhile, but according to the flurry of TV ads I've seen, Frank Leta Honda and Suntrup Volvo O'Fallon are now open. The last time I was in the area, the "coming soon" sign for Jim Trenary Chevrolet proclaimed an opening date of Spring 2007.

I wonder if Plaza is still considering bringing more franchises to the area.

I just did work for Leta's new dealership and am now doing work for Trenary's Chevy dealership.

There are 2 lots left. Leta is planning on moving his Acura dealership out here. The two lots out back of the area are overflow storage for Trenary and Leta.

I am also working a deal with Pappas for his new Toyota dealership off Spencer Rd. Fusz is opening a Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge dealership off Hwy K across from the soccer park and golf course.

Does that mean Leta will close that Acura dealer he has in South County, like he did with his Honda dealer on the Rock Rd cuz he wants more lot space. Will this also be in the auto mall?

I am anxiously awaiting the news for the last two lots in that auto mall. :D Also, any news on whats going next to Progress Point Mercedes? I heard Soave want to get BMW and Lexus franchises, any word on that?

As for the Fusz Dodge Chrysler Jeep where on K will that be? I am guessing it will be between Hwy N and 40, I am not familar with that area so I don't know where this golf course and soccer park are.

It'll be on the east side of Hwy. K, just north of Dardenne Creek and just south of Pheasant Meadow Drive. That makes it about 2 miles from I-64/Hwy. 40 and about a mile and a half from Hwy. N.

Any updates on the two remaining lots? Also, anymore news on other dealers moving into that area, any word on what Aristocrat has for the lot next to its Benz dealer?

I went over the weekend to check out this automall. Its not bad, but that Auffenberg Auto Mall of St. Clair county is larger and has more variety of makes and models. Its nice to see these in that area though. :)

I ran through the auto mall this morning, and two of the lots are still available for dealerships to occupy. The large apartment complex behind the auto mall is nearing completion, though.

In case anyone cared to know, there have been a lot of new developments in the area. The Marriott Residence Inn is about to open. Both Starbuck's and Maggie Moo's are open. Last week the new Kitaro: Bistro of Japan restaurant opened. It has some neat colored lights at night around the top of the building. It's a different color(s) every night. The new BJC Progess West hospital opened in February, and there are some office buildings under construction nearby. Also, Jimmy John's should open in the area very soon. A Waterway carwash/gas station is under construction in the area as well.
