"A massive former church building in North City will soon be home to two of St. Louis’ most prominent activist organizations.

Action St. Louis and ArchCity Defenders announced this morning that they have jointly purchased a 36,000-square-foot building on Goodfellow Boulevard in the city’s North Pointe neighborhood to anchor their services and be closer to the clients they serve. The new building is dubbed the Northside Movement Center. "

About 2/3 of it will be offices for ArchCity Defenders and Action St. Louis, the remaining part will be a "meeting space" with a gymnasium and conference rooms.

They bought the building for $2.9 million and plan a $7.8 million renovation. They plan to move in in January of 2026.

Are there any abandoned churches that haven't already burned? I feel like all the ones I was most worried about have fallen, but maybe there's one I'm missing. Disappointing that it's an office building, on the other hand . . . they probably need an office building.
