The Hyde Park neighborhood in north St. Louis will soon have 16 new townhouses. A ground breaking ceremony was held at the corner of <A HREF="http://maps.yahoo.com//maps_result?csz= ... ]Salisbury and North 22nd Streets[/b]</A> on October 03rd, 2004.

The neighborhood has a five-year plan to bring 25 rental units and 90 new single-family homes to the neighborhood.

I wish I had a digital camera to show the difference between the majority of the blocks around and a few away from the park in their depressed state. Surprisingly, North Park Place is a sparkling example of an ideal urban block with the vast majority of its homes rehabbed or just extremely well maintained. I hope Hyde Park makes a come back and that the Turnivein (spelling?) or former German gymnasium club is rehabbed since it's currently one of the most endangered. The Hyde Park neighborhood used to be a more upper middle class mixed with middle class neighborhood resembling Lafayette Square. Actually, the same builders of Laf Sq. homes built around Hyde Park too!

Ohh this is where my post in another thread should have went. :?

Well, again these townhouses are built and quickly nearing completion; the frames, insulation are up and next is the siding. Brick or limestone?

They look quite decent.
