Dude, I think you are the one being "defensive". My comment was meant to be a joke.

I still maintain however, that Sprint stores are usually jammed packed with people. A location for downtown would be great.

I've never heard of a Sprint store that isn't corporate owned? We've all seen the corny "Certified Verizon reseller" and crap like that, like RAM Telecom in southern Illinois. I've never heard of actual Verizon / Sprint / T-Mobile stores being franchised.

.... in most cities, there is probably a dicusussion on "Why doesnt the local goverment care about business?" Just proves you cant make everyone happy... even by doing good deeds.

There was a T-Mobile store inside St. Louis Centre that was forced out upon the mall's closure.

Why no mayoral funeral dirge for its passing?

Is it because, as Arch City contends, only one person even uses T-Mobile?

[Typed from a household of two, both of whom have T-Mobile phones.]

;)

A new Sprint store downtown is yawn-worthy...and a celebration over it is a waste, certainly not worth the ribbon that was sacrificed for it.

Its a pretty sad statement for us that there is such fanfare and a speech from the Mayor just for a cell phone store. I realize its a big step getting a national retailer to open a location downtown, but come on...

  I couldn't agree more. It's almost really sad actually. Well, at least there's a lot of momentum in downtown. and there's more to come! The sprint store on Clayton Road is probably the worst retail experience I have ever had to deal with- then again so is the company. I think they might even have metal detectors at that location! LOL!

I went in the Sprint store yesterday and had the place to myself. Such a relief compared to the Clayton store. It is owned by a company called Wireless Lifestyle, which is a Sprint "Preferred Partner".

It's so bad at the Clayton Rd store I've seen as many as 3 security guards in there.
