^ Nice,
Some details more specific to manufacturer of material used for EV batteries. Maybe tweak title of thread. Had visions of BMW type announcement of $1.7 billion. But huge to see this coming
ICL-IP America Inc. is getting a $197 million Department of Energy grant to help pay for the 120,000-square-foot facility at the company’s existing campus at Germania Street and Primm Avenue.
About 150 professional and union jobs will be added, the company said in a news release.
The plant will manufacture lithium iron phosphate cathode active material. The first of two production lines is expected to be completed by 2024.

Glad to hear this! I have oddly warm, fuzzy feelings about that plant, since my dad spent his career at Monsanto. (Mostly at Queeny and later corporate, but he got to all the plants sometimes. Which involved a lot of drops and pickups at the airport.) Anyway, glad to see ICL investing and they seem to have been good stewards of the property. This is great news!

Worth noting with EV batteries and related tech is that some of the raw materials like cobalt are mined in Missouri in one of the few locations in the US with mineral deposits. The area would be well poised for such manufacturing having the raw materials nearby meaning more jobs both in the St. Louis metro area and in the mining areas.
