Thanks for the merge, and thanks for the info on this building. Looks (and sounds) like it's gonna be quite a nice school.

Hi all! Thanks for the interest in the new school. Here is the latest...

We ARE moving to the new facility at Spring and Chouteau on January 1. The kids' first day there will be Jan 7, giving us time to move in and get procedures down in the new space.

We have been in the old state office building on SLU's campus since opening day in August. As any start-up school, we have faced many challenges and hit them head on, learning from each experience.

I frequently check the new building in person, and I can tell you it will be a phenomenal addition to the community. It is located near SLU, and the emerging CWE based science district to take advantage of the many resources offered to students attending a Science and Math Academy.

If you have any ideas of Science, Math (or otherwise) community learning or service projects for inner city youth (K-8th) please do not hesitate to contact me at krisquint@yahoo.com

Thanks!

There are a number of coffee roasters in the area - surely there's some science in that right? OK - I'm just an adicted coffee drinker trying to spread the word!

^Yep. Something about midtown having just exactly the right type of steam loop for roasting coffee. Actually, it probably would make an interesting science-class field trip.

The painted exterior is unfortunate. That building had a beautiful palate of buff terra cotta and orange-yellow brick. Now it's all a drab gray.

Yep. I hate it when people paint over brick. Makes no sense.

I completely agree. that painted brick looks hideous. They should power wash the brick. The WORST example of this "resurfacing/recoating" has to be in Midtown on Olive. They put that foam/stucco crap all over this building at Compton (?) and Olive. It's yellow and green I believe. How was that allowed?

They got a building permit. I too think it is horribly ugly, but there are no protections of any type there.

The paint is horrible as well. I almost wrecked my truck when I drove by and saw the paint being applied.

Just wanted to update everyone on our school, as I have been getting some interested people emailing for more info...

We are fully moved into our new building, and enrollment is increasing daily. We are currently over half way to our 1100 student max. Despite the large population, we have developed a unique team centered collaborative atmosphere. We are very proud of what we have to offer K-8th graders!

The web address has been changed to www.imagineschools-esm.com

Please visit! This site is still under construction, so please be patient if some photos or staff info is incomplete at this time.

Also, please watch a special documentary on our family of schools, featuring ESM on March 19th on Channel 5.

We are currently developing partnerships with local organizations, and will be announcing projects soon.

In addition, we will soon be having our Grand Opening Ceremony which was postponed due to weather.

Thanks for all your interest!

Kris
