The Kol Rinah congregation is building a handsome, modernist addition to their new Clayton Synagogue at the corner of Hanley and Maryland. Not a big building, but it has already won an award from the St. Louis chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Designed by Patterhn Ives.

The east elevation is especially nice. That should be a pleasant courtyard between the wings. It's sort of amusing going by the site on Google street view and watching the signs change, since the shots are apparently from different reels. Anyway . . . nice new building!

You know, I think I like that a lot. It's simple, but elegant. I bet it looks great from the inside.

The architect's website has been updated to include interior images. Patterhn-Ives has been posted the photos to Facebook as well. It looks good.
