The parking garage on the corner of Locust and Broadway has a new stainless steel screening that looks real cool. It was put on last week sometime.

Great photos, the building with the Hilton is beautiful. I was hoping the Hilton would open before the Final Four. Thanks for the update.

Great pics Matguy! The Marquette garage looks totally different.

Is the building on the left where Robert Bros. are going to open up a club? (mentioned in an earlier thread.)

The one on the right is the Merchant's Laclede--where the Hilton will be.

But the building on the left will be converted into a club, yes.

Nice pictures, as always!

We were downtown last night and drove by the Merchants Laclede/Hilton, and the lobby is really looking nice.

Not sure I like what the Fed has done to their parking garage though. I like the lower levels, but I'm not crazy about the upper levels.

I'm not sure how I like it either, but I still think it is an improvement. I definately do like the bottom though. It make a bland garage interesting, and for that, I do like it.

Hello all! I've been reading your postings since they were on the DT Stl chat. I have certainly enjoyed reading all of your views, and check on this sight almost daily. It offers some of the best information available!

In looking at these recent pictures it makes me excited to think all of the areas that are growing. This area has the potential to be one of the most beautiful and truly urban. With the new Hilton and the updated Federal Reserve, I believe this may end up being downtown's truly grand street. If we can now bring in the retail shops along the way, I believe this may be the link between the South DT area and the North DT area.

BTW...Last time I was downtown, the city was a buzz. I've only lived in STL (county actually, Rock Hill) for 7 years, but I have never seen it this busy...and fun!

Nice progress photos.

The restored base of the Merchants-LaClede building is beautiful.

I hope that we'll see some streetscape improvements to Fourth Street and Broadway in the near future. Those streets were part of the streetscape plan that the city developed 5-6 years ago, and the renderings show trees, planters, benches, pavers, lights, etc. added, and it really looks good.

Same here. It always seems busy these days. This last time, I took the Metrolink down on a cold Saturday and the train looked like it was rush hour. Lots of people getting on and off at each station. Once downtown, many people walking the streets on a very cold windy day. Went to grab a bite to eat and each establishment that was open for lunch had a line... went to the St. Louis Bread Company at 6th and Pine and the place was hopping as well. Great vibe downtown that Saturday.
