@bds520 Out of curiosity, what are the questions you get about the area/region, and what's people's perception?
People are infatuated with it, particularly from Europe. A lot of it is reputational and the region does a great job marketing itself; we had house guests last week and struggled with making recommendations on how to fill their days aside from broadway. Meanwhile, if I ever mention I'm from St. Louis, a range of issues and comments result around crime, etc. that just misses the bigger picture. St. Louis has some major self-loathing issues that it just can't shake despite its (marginal) efforts.
Interesting, that sounds about right lol. What do Europeans see in it? The country music/Americana thing? Not saying it sucks or anything, just curious
