I was watching Channel 4 news tonight and they mentioned that MoDOT will not go for toll roads this year. I think it is a wonderful idea to allow tollroads in the state, however, I don't think that existing freeways should be retrofitted.
Due to the money crunch at MoDOT, any expansion of the road system is close to impossible for some time. If Page Avenue were to be completed as a toll road, I wouldn't really take issue to it. If the reconstruction of I-70 (Wentzville to KC) goes through, tolls would help to pay for it. At this time it isn't likely people would vote for toll roads, but it looks like in the next few years this issue will be going to the polls. Has this issue been before Missouri voters before?
