I was watching Channel 4 news tonight and they mentioned that MoDOT will not go for toll roads this year. I think it is a wonderful idea to allow tollroads in the state, however, I don't think that existing freeways should be retrofitted.

Due to the money crunch at MoDOT, any expansion of the road system is close to impossible for some time. If Page Avenue were to be completed as a toll road, I wouldn't really take issue to it. If the reconstruction of I-70 (Wentzville to KC) goes through, tolls would help to pay for it. At this time it isn't likely people would vote for toll roads, but it looks like in the next few years this issue will be going to the polls. Has this issue been before Missouri voters before?

The Page extension would have been a perfect toll road. What a waste to let that huge bridge be a free ride.

The speed limit is enforced on Page Ave before you cross the bridge into St. Charles. Often I see several police cars pull over ppl on Page Ave. I guess that can be somewhat a toll, but its more like revenue collecting for the city of Maryland Heights.

I wish they make Page Ave a tollway, ppl would still use it considering how bad the 270/70 interchange can get, but with Page Ave. congestion there has decreased a lot.

It's stupid that there aren't already tollways. Almost every major metro in the country has them in some form. They are a great revenue maker and if people don't want to pay, they can leave their cars at home and rely on public transit. It's a win-win IMO.

I propose Hwy. (Interstate) 370 and the Page Avenue Extension as toll roads.

Since St. Charles County voted down MetroLink, people who live, work, or play out there should have to pay for the upkeep of those roads.

BTW, the Page Avenue Extension is an awesome drive.

It is? I must be on it the wrong days, people constantly pass me and i'm doing 70. I hate the page extension because if you don't go fast you get run over, if you do go fast, you know that's going to be the day a cop is out looking to fill a quota.
