Not sure who is interested in a late flight to Knoxville but I’m happy with any connection that’s not Florida at BLV.

I had the same thoughts but Frontier and Spirt have late flights that get filled. People will take bad times flights for cheap fares. And Allegiant runs some others even later than that. Destin has a 909 pm departure in summer

Probably helps that they are the only nonstop option and Southwest doesn’t fly to Knoxville at all.

They are also starting South Bend, Indiana to Knoxville. I figure ours has to do better than that

Allegiant extended their schedule into early May.

March schedule looks pretty busy. 35 flights a week. up 9 a week from this year. Hopefully we are seeing a upturn again for BLV

Fort Lauderdale and Vegas are back 2x a week starting mid February
Destin is daily in March (double daily on weekends)
Punta Gorda daily in March
Jacksonville is 2x a week starting in March.
Sarasota is 3x a week Feb/March. Might be the first time it’s been 3x a week
Orlando 5x week in March.
Knoxville drops off early January

Allegiant is starting a new route from Midamerica to Gulf shores. 2x a week starts May 23rd. This will be the 12th destination.

Interesting note on this. Gulf Shores doesn’t currently have a terminal or commercial service. They are working to get one ready by next spring so these would be some of the first commercial flights there.

The airport is also only 3 miles from the beach.

Summer schedule thus far. 42 flights a week.

Flights per week
12x Destin
6x Punta Gorda
5x St Pete
4x Orlando
2x Jacksonville/Knoxville/Fort Lauderdale/Vegas/Myrtle Beach/Sarasota/Gulf Shores
1x Savannah

Anyone have progress photos of the new light rail? Doesn't look like much has been published in a while.

Flew through BLV this weekend...here are a couple of update pics on the phase IV construction.

On that note...I SWEAR I remember seeing a document at some point recently with their plans/layout of the FIS building. I cannot find it anywhere now...does anybody know where said document may be?

No, I'm pretty sure it's the beginnings of the FIS. I could be wrong though. But the Metrolink station is starting to be built north of the parking lot.

I’m not sure there was one, there was a mock up in the conference room of a potential layout. They have changed it a few times anyway. I think it is supposed to be to the southeast side and detached from the main building.

Official numbers for December aren't out yet (from DOT) but it looks like BLV will be back above the 300K passenger mark for 2024. It dipped below it in 2023.  They have 2025 projected to get close to 400K at the moment. It should be the best year they have had (2022 was 323K).

For the graphic:
BLV enplanements. You can basically double it, won't be exact, if you want to know total passengers. Nice bump in January to start the year. Nov/Dec projections will need to be updated once those schedules are released.

About what Amtrak does at the Gateway Station. Wish we could put even a fraction of the money into it that BLV has gotten.

I’m a little surprised Amtrak isn’t more.

Booked my first Allegiant flight out BLV. Realistically how much time should we allot for getting through security of a Friday afternoon? Allegiant says to arrive two hours early - is that fair?

By about an hour.

I've flown from there twice.  Virtually no lines.

Pretty sure they have a shuttle bus right now, but could be wrong.

2026 is when the expansion is expected to be finished.

*Cracks Shameless Plugging Fingers*
Well.. I am just SO glad you asked... 😏 Fortunately, there is a connecting shuttle service from the Scott Red Line Metrolink to Midamerica...as demonstrated by my St Louis Metropolitan Region Transit Map *see image* *link here*: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?hl=e ... 62383&z=13

! HOWEVER....for your convenience and your patience in entertaining my sales pitch, here is THEE literal link, to the connecting shuttle service: https://scctd.org/services/midamerica-airport-shuttle/
