^Let's spread the love. I could see them as a nice fit in either south or north city. Put 'em around Kingshighway and Chippewa (expand one of the two strip malls with a street wall, out all the existing businesses in that one, and build a new campus right on the corner) or put it on Grand or Jefferson near Cass as a part of the northside redevelopment, so long as you can get the land without enriching McKee.

Not that a St. Charles college is ever going to move into the city, but if you're going to dream you might as well dream hard. (Not that the Midtown idea is bad, mind. Pretty solid, really. Probably much more practical.)

^ Funny thing, the hotel was dropped in the second revision. The plan they just killed was literally the arena, a ton of parking and a small out building for a restaurant.

Town and Country people really like the “country” in their town.

^I'm dreaming but... that's why I thought Midtown would be fun for them... just off I64, so same highway as the University, partner with Wellsfargo (call it the WF eSports arena).  Build it on their parking lot next to their new hotels and unfortunately they'll probably have to figure out a parking solution, but put in under ground lot or just enough space next to it.

The Armory is kind of well set-up to host an e-sports tournament.  Huge open space to set-up prelim games with a huge screen to show main event matches, and can host a couple thousand of spectators.  Probably can't do it on a regular basis, but it would be interesting to see what a big e-sports tournament could do there.

Why was I thinking the thing was in St. Charles? Sorry about that. Yeah, realistically Nomad and PattiMaGee are right. Midtown is a solid spot. And there's a lot of light industrial land that's slowly finding its way to other uses around the Armory. I do like that idea.

I figured you were getting maryville and Lindenwood confused. :-)

I was thinking somewhat along the same lines but a Foundry Phase III full service hotel tower/esports arena (convertible into some conference space for non esport events).   Fit nicely along Vande with great coverage from I64

and Metrolink coverage, for all the complaints about parking it's foolish not to put an events/tourist attraction somewhere with a Metro stop

St. Louis does a bad job at putting useful things around Metro stops. For a city the size of St. Louis, we are far ahead similar sized cities. I think we're making progress, but Metrolink is heavily underutilized.

My wish full thinking is for Maryville University is to go all in as Crawler's main tenant for a city presence as well.   Short walk over & across the trestle to the new Foundry III Hotel/Esports Venue.   Might as well go big with my one cent thoughts.

Of course, if Maryville wanted to do something downtown say with LHM/Union Station or say Drury rebuild near to MSL/West downtown or in cooperation with Harris Stowe.   Heck, can see a Wells Fargo sponsored Esport Venue already.
