You may want to check out mapourfuture.org. It's produced by MODOT, and makes a game out of allocating transportation money. Kind of interesting to post your results against others who have played the game, and actual funding by MODOT. Below is from the STL P-D.

The Missouri Department of Transportation just launched a Web site game, the Funding Allocation Challenge. From the comfort of their own computers, gamers can play MoDOT big shot and direct cyber money to whatever cyber projects they choose. A walking, talking MoDOT director Pete Rahn even narrates the game along the way.

I think this is justification for their *****. They want to show the public how hard their job is, "hey look how hard this is, stop b*tching because its reaaallly hard." Yeah right, these guys have a job, its hard, but, they are still accountable; this is purely propaganda.

I encourage everyone to poke around the website, as it is full of tons on intersting informaiton on how MODOT seems to be going about mkaing future funding decisions. THe most intersting was reading the sakeholder survey on the site. It is intersting to see the game up there, though after looking around and listening to the audio, it seems clear that the game is simply another survey by MODOT to understand how people would like them to make funding decisions, thats why they ask for your ZIP code when you start. FOr that reason, I encourage people to play, and if you know some outstate ZIP codes, throw those in too.

Funny how they give options for funding mass transit. I thought the game would reflect reality!
