A coworker of mine is going to the Pagent this friday to see a show with his wife and another couple. He asked me about dinner options within walking distance of the Pagent. I suggested Pi. Can anyone suggest any other sit down eateries someone in their 50's from St. Chuck would enjoy?

Riddles would be a very good option.

Pi might be a little too funky. I was in there a few weeks ago and the table next to us had some Wash U parents dining with their kids. It didn't seem like the parents were enjoying themselves.

609 and Delmar Lounge might also be pushing it

Miss Saigon is always good. All of the Thai places could also work.

Miss Saigon if they like Vietnamese; Thai Cafe if they like Thai; Pam's Chicago Style Dogs if they want simple all-American stuff. All that stuff is east of Skinker. Riddle's is also within an easy walk, as are a number of things west of Skinker.

Riddles is a great suggestion. If they like Middle Eastern food, there's always Saleem's. They might like Delmar Lounge if they go earlier in the evening. I must say I don't know as much about places east of Skinker, and that's a problem I must rectify soon. (That Chicago-style hot dog place is calling me!)

What about Brandt's?

If they're really St. Charles-y, you might just recommend Fitz's. Not a knock against Fitz's, which I like, but it is a pretty traditional place.

50's from St. Chuck?

I would recommend Blue Hill or the Melting Pot. Anything ethnic might make their heads explode.

Why wouldn't someone in their 50's like Pi? My parents are in their late 50s and love it. Everytime I've been there have been people in that age range there. I have never gotten the impression that the place was a) funky or b) unlikely to be liked by 50 year-olds.

They'll be fine there. ANd it's easily the most convenient to The Pageant.

^ Exactly my thoughts, I think he's decided on Pi, so I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.
