I didn't start this thread to debate conservative or liberal biases in the media. Let's just focus on the LOCAL tv news media.

Seriously, I hope someone from KSDK reads this. I grew up with KSDK and have noticed it slipping; I've found myself watching KMOV far more often these days.

Also, I suppose many like to frame it as pro-choice instead of pro-abortion. It's cleaner that way. See, the crux of the issue isn't a choice; it's an act. Abortion or lack thereof. If you support abortion, you're pro-abortion. If you're against abortion, you're anti-abortion. Simple as that.

You're wrong. Sorry.

I'm pro-choice, I don't support the idea of abortion. I support the idea of a woman's right to choose. IE Choice.

But then, what you're arguing is the conservatives answer to not calling themselves anti-abortion, but rather, Pro-Life. Well, who the hell isn't Pro-Life?

[sarcasm]Ah, yes, I'm actually Anti-Life. I believe that all should die, including myself. Like, as soon as possible would be great, thanks.[/sarcasm]

I don't take issue with people who are Anti-Abortion, because so am I. I do take issue with the people who take billboard ads of third trimester abortions and plaster them all over the place to protest something that is already banned.

Sorry to go back off topic, but I generally agree that our local stations suck. But I've been around the country, and am generally unimpressed with television news stations everywhere.

^True. Bad local news programs are not just a St. Louis problem. It is hard to find a good local news program in any city. I don't bother with them unless I am bored and want some sensational entertainment.

Hey, everybody.

I never expected to see a thread like this on an urban living board... but it's good to see, nonetheless.

If any of you ever need to reach me with a tip or story idea, please shoot them along to schamraz@kmov.com or through my blog at http://www.beloblog.com/KMOV_Blogs/n4idailybriefing/

I'm a downtown dweller, too... so I share many of the same concerns and hopes you folks do.

And by the way... It was good to see the mayor's office finally take SOME action on Lucas Park. You may remember the story we did last November that identified the area around the park as one of the highest concentrations of crime in the downtown/downtown west neighborhoods. Second on our list of crime spots was Laclede's Landing near the casinos... so no surprise to hear about crooks prowling the Pinnacle parking lot.

Thanks, all. I'm around... holler if you need me.
