I recently went to Milwaukee and I was impressed how the third ward area in Downtown had a light rail system. Saw a super full market and restaurants.

I’m curious if there’s a plan or was ever a plan to do a light rail system on Washington Avenue that could turn right on Jefferson and stops by the new NGA or make it go all the way through the Grove turning on certain roads. Been proven that light rail systems make neighborhoods more attractive to investors how come no one is talking about it. Now that the Football Stadium bonds are paid in full how come aren’t we doing this?

There are so, so many other threads for this.  We talk about it here all the time.  Check the streetcar threads (Milwaukee has a streetcar not light rail).

Also, Dome bonds have been extended to pay for the Convention Center expansion. Hotel tax money can’t be used for transit expansion.

Some threads and materials:

N-S Metrolink thread (with different alignments serving NGA more and less directly): https://urbanstl.com/northside-southside-metrolink-t10503-s1450.html

The St. Louis Streetcar thread (which wouldn't directly serve The Grove, but wouldn't be too far away): https://urbanstl.com/st-louis-streetcar-t10322-s225.html

A couple NextSTL articles on the St. Louis Streetcar from the beginning of the last decade, when it had a brief moment as a proposal:
