I believe the "Lemp Firehouse Lofts" may also be known as the "Lynch Street Firehouse Lofts", or simply the "Firehouse Lofts". Located in Benton Park.

The St. Louis Business Journal reported in its Sept. 10 issue that Derrick Thomas, president of St. Louis home-building company Derrick Inc., is getting ready to break ground on two residential projects in the Benton Park neighborhood south of downtown.
Prices for the four Firehouse Lofts at 2217-2225 Lemp start at $300,000, and prices for the two Senate Place custom townhomes around the corner at 1912-1914 Senate and start at $325,000.
Both projects are expected to be completed by late fall.

Sounds strange to build 4 townhouses that look like 4 firehouses? I would prefer 4 townhouses that look like 4 townhouses. But, maybe in reality it looks good. I am glad they are making this kind of investment in building new houses. Benton Park has been getting a lot of attention lately. Has anybody seen how these look?
Wow, those are differant! And from what I remember having read about the developer, he's a bit differant too! Here's a guy who just goes ahead and jumps in! I hope he's succesful, so he can do lots more. We need more people around here who are willing to TRY something, and see what happens.

I think faux firehouses are no different than new industrial lofts, like those in Richmond Heights or the Highlands. Such new faux units are not for everyone, but at least they are adding new density with urban-friendly design to our City.
