They're accepting renovations from December 26th and beyond. It seems like a bad move missing Christmas.
^ I wonder, you will have no business travel over Christmas and most of people out for entertain will pick New Years over Xmas. So what does that leave a few families looking for a hotel room among many hotels and rooms to pick from? I don't think it is not that bad of a move and gives new employees xmas off before you kick start the hotel
I first worked downtown in the summer of 2002. That year and for a few after that, the lobby of this building was a post office. Then I worked in Clayton for a couple years. I cam back downtown and worked in Met Square and the building was abandoned. I worked there for 7 years, and I am sure my coworkers got sick of me stating that that floor level space would make an awesome downtown bar, because I said it every time we walked by it. Not a sports bar. Not an Irish bar. Not a whatever-theme bar. Just a corner bar. Dark wood, big windows, good beer and booze selection. A small-ish TV, for distraction if needed, but not the main focus. Great music.
I have been back in clayton for 4 years now, so didn't realise this was going in.
It doesn't look like this will quite be what I had been hoping for, but i am happy to see something there!

Oh man, I've had that same thought. Several years ago I visited a bar in a building similar to the LaSalle in San Francisco, and it was basically just what you described. I've been fixated on that idea ever since.jeff707 wrote: ↑Nov 05, 2019I worked there for 7 years, and I am sure my coworkers got sick of me stating that that floor level space would make an awesome downtown bar, because I said it every time we walked by it. I work a block away and am super excited to have a bar in that corner!

Same. If they can put together even a marginal product I will be there often.kipfilet wrote: ↑Nov 05, 2019I work a block away and am super excited to have a bar in that corner!
Right. Right now (unfortunately) the most reliable place for a beer near work is Tigins, which is pretty overpriced and has terrible service. We enjoyed Trust for a while, but their times/service changed and it became an unreliable choice. Hotel St. Louis is not too far but the rooftop bar is pricey and very noisy with the metal structure they have there.
When do the bars/restaurants open up here? After christmas like the hotel for reservations?
Bar/restaurant is open. Went there yesterday for a work function. We only had drinks, but the cocktails were pretty good. The lobby is looking really good. No idea about the rooms though. I do hope this place stays open.
Do you mean the rooftop bar? I didn't think that was open yet...or is there a bar on the ground floor as well?kipfilet wrote: ↑Dec 05, 2019Bar/restaurant is open. Hotel Indigo - St. Louis says there are two restaurants and a bar.
There's that rooster-coifed virtual hipster again, and I think the same girl who always looks like she needs to find a bathroom...they sure do get around...
Meant the lobby bar downstairs, which is the one in the "picture" you posted.urbanitas wrote: ↑Dec 05, 2019Do you mean the rooftop bar? They should really try to make it less obvious when it comes to the ones they photoshop in compared to the ones that were actually placed in the model. Some of the photoshopped ones still have their white border around them even. Other than that I really like that street grid graphic as an artistic wall element.urbanitas wrote: ↑Dec 06, 2019

^Yeah, not a great rendering job, but the space looks good.
And I see my pointer didn't end up in the right place. I was talking about the seated guy right in the middle of the rendering. It's the third different local project rendering, with I believe different architects / designers, where they have used that same virtual guy, in the same pose. It must be an inside joke.

Is that a "rooftop pool"?chriss752 wrote: ↑Dec 10, 2019@ldai_phs and I took a tour of this the other day. The renovation is nice and the rooms are narrow. The hallways a narrow as well and actually made me wonder if they are ADA compliant. The attached photos are mine. ldai_phs took others but I won't share them since they are his.

Has anyone been to the rooftop bar here yet? I thought I saw somewhere it was finally open.

Say whatever one will, but this is a fantastic deal for a great location. Should keep the lights on for a bit longer here.gone corporate wrote: ↑6:50 PM - Mar 12STL Biz Journal: Miami investors snag downtown St. Louis hotel out of receivership for less than half its appraised value
