I'm sure people on here visit the Lake. Here is an article about some of the buildings on the Strip down by the Dam.

Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. -
The issue Derelict buildings detract from the appeal of the Lake Ozark Strip What we think Tear them down now. There have been many positive improvements made to the Strip in Lake Ozark over the last few years. New sidewalks on the north side greatly enhanced to the Strip’s appeal and accessibility. New businesses have come in and rehabbed old buildings or just tore down the old and started anew.
Yet take a drive or a stroll down the historic attraction where the lake begins and what do you notice? Sidewalks still in disrepair on the south side and decrepit old buildings that both cast a negative image to visitors. The city is still struggling with finding a way to repair the south sidewalks, although the Bagnell Dam Strip Association is making slow but steady progress on this issue. The other issue has also been dragging on for years.
It is long past time for the city to take a proactive position on derelict buildings. It has the ability to condemn the property and force the landowners to pay for demolition. What has been continually lacking is the backbone to make a commitment, take the criticism from a few self-serving individuals, and force the issue to make progress. The board recently gave owners of three properties 45 days to address specific issues of concern. Should they fail to take action, the board needs to authorize action of its own on day 46 - fire up the bulldozers, knock ‘em down and get the pile of rubble hauled off.
