I heard on the Dave Glover Show (on 97.1 FM Talk) this afternoon that KC Masterpiece is going into Union Station. Did anyone else hear the same thing or know anything about that?

I saw in the Sunday Classifieds that they were hiring for the restaurant. I'm not sure when it's supposed to open.

now it looks like KC Masterpiece is closing their Union Station location soon and will be just focusing on their operations in Overland Park, KS. :?

Also, weren't they building a KC Masterpiece next to the Dillards at Northwest Plaza? Has this been scrapped too? The small piece of land has already been cleared for development:?:

I've heard that they are having major problems as a company and the fact that they're closing the Union Station restaurant probably isn't a poor reflection on the health of Union Station.

^ I heard the same. I understand that there are huge management issues between the owner and the individual store managers. Something regarding one or two of the franchise managers basically robbing the owner blind from under the table.

I hate to kick a company while it is down, but of all the Kansas City BBQ places, I don't care for KC Masterpiece. Bring STL a Gates or Haywards or Smokestack. They have some good BBQ in KC and KCM is not the best.

I never even heard of it. I guess this KC/STL, love/hate thing, only affects the people in Missouri.

Gates is nothing compared to Arthur Bryants. :)

Love KC Bar-B-Que, but KC Masterpiece is about as average as you get for that city. So much great 'Que in that city, such a poor representation, IMO.

I'd be thrilled to see Gates open in St. Louis! I've been eating Gates for nearly 20 years...A beef-and-a-half, fries and a strawberry soda please.

Has anyone been down there recently? I heard from a friend that works downtown that it is closing already...

Yes it is closing as reported by the St. Louis Business Journal and posted near the top of this page by 10-intuition.
