You can read more about Tabernacle CDC in this STLToday article from November 2019: https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/met ... 43da4.html

Sounds like a good group. These small, church-based organizations have collectively done more work on the Northside than probably all regular developers combined.

Another bullsh*t/sorta racist headline from the BJ regarding developments in North City: "Incentives sought for 91-home project pitched for north city"

https://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/new ... 0#cxrecs_s

She penned the BJ article for the proposed Opus project on Spruce yesterday and made ZERO mention of the tax abatement incentives in the title. Its happening to frequently to be a coincidence. Stop putting a negative spin on stories about developments in north city.

Does the article author write the headline at the BJ?

Idk, but the author's opening line in the article is "A community development organization is asking the city of St. Louis for 25 years of tax abatement to aid in its plan to rehab and build homes in north city."  Again, in the article published yesterday about the Opus project, the incentive package the developer is seeking was buried in the 5th paragraph midway through the article.

^Bummer! :( I'm guessing that's 2840 Gamble, which is a part of a small surviving row of three structures with a four attached house of about the same age. I sincerely hope it doesn't take the entire row.

$900k building permit application submitted for site prep for the tiny homes for homeless veterans by The Veterans Community Project at Grand and Aldine.
The approved Veterans Community Project PUD calls for the construction of 50 detached “tiny houses” sizes ranging from 240 square feet to 320 square feet, a 7,600 square feet Community Center for the village residents, and a 6,222 square foot outreach center to serve the public, and 70 parking spaces across the development.
Thanks goodness it meets the parking minimum!
