There's no date on this photo, but it is interesting. The building is slightly different than today.

The building no longer says Lewis-Howe Company on the first floor. The sign is also different at the top.

Here's the Street View Image

I love this building(s).

Thanks for posting that. I love the Tums building. I wonder how much longer it'll be around.

Interesting. I took almost exactly the same picture from the Top of the Riverfront restaurant in the Millennium Hotel a couple of years ago:

And another, taken from the entrance to the hotel:

Thanks for sharing.

(An aside for the mods - it says I can't directly display the pictures in my post because they're bigger than 800x600, but I can't use the "" BBCode tag to resize it. Is there any way around that?)

*bump* - any help including larger pictures in my post, or will I need to resize and rehost my original images? I have some pictures of Busch and MetroLink I'd like to post in the Pictures subforum, but they're all 1024x768.

Thanks,

^ There's not a way around it in the forum, but you can post larger photos in the "Media", "Photography" area. You'll have to be logged-in on the "Social" tab. You can create a folder for yourself or by topic.

Flickr & Picasa allow you to embed pictures from your albums into lower-resolutions for posting elsewhere. Photobucket should support this as well.

That's a bit disappointing re: the forum, but at least there's some outlet. I wasn't sure if they merited their own folder in the media section or not - I'd posted them on SSP and they've registered nary a peep...

Thanks for the info Alex - much appreciated.

innov8ion - looks like I can paste a thumbnail, but I'm not seeing how to resize the image from the Photobucket side of things

If I can get Photobucket to display as 800x600, that'd be great. I'll keep playing, thanks.

You should be able to go as wide as 1024 pixels now. If it negatively affects the template, it may have to be lowered again. It's a shame that Photobucket does not make it easy to resize images.

Hmm.. <tests>

Nice - thanks. It's very much appreciated. Hope that doesn't screw things up too much...

EDIT - looks like my both images are cropped by the forum template at 800 pixels...

Looks to be a decent compromise. The template maintains its integrity and forum members can post pictures up to 1024 pixels wide.

^ maybe we push the limit a bit higher? 1600px? If the template crops them then it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe it's not necessary, but it's a nice way to embed pics.
