Mostly rubble now, except for a garage on the West side of the site and a trussed structure in the northeast. It really is a larger site than I'd ever appreciated from the road.

Any progress on this site? Last thing I heard was a possible off campus student housing development but perhaps that went by the wayside with the Vandeventer/FFP site further west moving forward.

With the area exploding with Cortex, seems like the market for a hotel would be much better than say two-three years ago,

I've heard nothing. Last year, Collegiate Housing Partners was trying to appeal for rezoning. I couldn't find a record of how that developed.

^ Thanks. Perhaps "The Standard" project also is forcing a move in another direction from student housing. It is a solid location so hopefully something nice will come to fruition before too long. Another parcel in the general area that seems intriguing is the large vacant lot across from Laclede Lofts.... it appears that may be pretty much un/underutilized parking overflow for somebody that looks ripe for infill housing.

Those lots are owned by CORTEX. Not sure why. The property further south across the alley (facing Forest Park Ave) is all owned by the Salvation Army. Perhaps they envision buying that property for a larger development of some sort.

Maybe they'll do something similar to their developments in Midtown. I saw that they were renovating those buildings right by their newer one and online there are some renderings of all the new buildings they plan to put on those vacant lots there. They look like the one on Locust.

Interesting. With the super-long blocks and a decent residential population forming on Pine and Laclede, I think it would be cool if Cortex and other stakeholders designed a nicely landscaped bike/ped N/S connection from Lindell to FPP mid-block. Without something like that, if you live towards the middle of one of the blocks its a bit like living in a subdivision with a restaurant behind your house on an arterial but the only way to get to it is to travel a mile.
