"Behind Creepy Crawl" is a parking lot. I wonder what he means.

I was wondering the same thing. If it's "behind" the Creepy Crawl, why is Creepy Crawl moving?

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, maybe he didn't say it would be "behind" Creepy Crawl. He was reading me the riot act about all of the reasons I shouldn't move downtown, so I was just trying to make a quick exit!

He said that he's done with downtown and that his sons are opening the new shop.

OK, you can't make a statement like this on this forum, and then not tell us what he said! What did he say?

The Post this weekend had an article/update about the Creepy Crawl move. Their Grand Center openning is still on hold, pending liquer license issues. Either way, they have to be out of the old space in May, when Gus's Fashions will open in the old Creepy Crawl space.

He was telling me about all the homeless people who wander the streets and urinate on the sidewalks, and that just a few blocks away is a very dangerous area and there's nothing to prevent them from coming up to Washington Ave. and robbing me. He even introduced me to a homeless woman who lives in a car nearby and told me that she would be my new neighbor. It's probably good that his store closed over the weekend because it sounds like he's using every chance he gets to scare people away. He mentioned that a man stopped by asking about the neighborhood because his daughter wanted a loft on Washington, so he told him the "real" story.

I was really disappointed... I'd seen the store and heard stories about the guy and thought it would be cool to meet him. But as soon as he started talking I just wanted to get outta there!

And for the record, I did tell him that I love the loft area and I'm not afraid to live there. I want to live within walking distance of bars and restaurants and all of the great things only the city can offer. He wouldn't listen to a word of that.

Mystery solved! Thanks Framer!

Interesting he would act that way now that he is being forced to move. It didnt cause him to move his store in the past.

That has nothing to do with why he's moving his store.

Hopefully, no one would really take any advice from him seriously.

I don't think anyone will... he just sounds like one of those "grumpy old men" types who you just can't take seriously. He reminds me of my grandpa.

Given that he was a regular on World Wide Magazine, there is a good chance he was pulling your leg.

That wouldn't surprise me a bit. It's exactly the kind of thing my crabby old grandpa would have done.

Anyway, I'm glad I got a chance to meet him. It's not something I'll soon forget. I can't wait to check out the new location.

Gus's is now open in their new space on Tucker (the former Creepy Crawl).

Does it still have no windows? Bars on the doors?
