Whether you feel the homes are worthy of preservation or not, is not the discussion, nor did I mean to make it sound that way, by mention various preservation groups. My issue is that they are going to raise a bunch of homes and a nice street, for what??? Another Walgreens, when there's one on every corner in the City. I'm all for development and new businesses, but to raise homes, when there are SO many vacant spots in the City to build, is a travesty. If land was hard to come by and Walgreens had no options, I'd be less outraged. Once you tear out the housing stock, it is gone for good. There are so many empty lots in this town and plenty of land to build a Walgreens on, in that area! Just saying!
PS_ Why does a city that is bleeding population, want to continue to raise it's housing stock. Those are perfect starter homes and family homes. Why tear them down and possibly push more families and residents POSSIBLY out of the City limits.
