Not sure if there's a thread about this.

I've been meaning to ask, as there's been some prep work going on as I go down Kingshighway. Knowing recent trends, I feared demo was eminent.

A couple days later I answered my own question when I drove down Gravois and saw the banner for Gateway Science Academy.

whew! Glad this dormant corner is going to see life again!

Yep - SLPS sat on the pending sale for a very long time, but ultimately sold the building - one of the first old public school buildings to be used by a charter school (I think).

Is Gateway Science moving here for sure? If so, middle school or high school?

It will be a new school - Gateway Science Academy South for K-6. The existing school at Ivanhoe and Smiley will stay open and students from both of the elementary schools will go to the middle and high school on Fyler. Preference will still be given to students in 63109, 63139, and 63110 in the enrollment lottery.

^Great! Thanks for the information. I am happy to hear the Ivanhoe location will stay operational. Good to see expansion of a good school.
