Ground has been broken on 40 new, affordable, single-family homes in the 4200 blocks of Finney, Cook, and CD Banks. This area around Vandeventer and Bell has really been transformed.

I kind of like the design though of course I wish it was more than just the front.

Yeah, these are meant to be affordable, so no frills, I'm afraid. Still, a very good project.

Lots of houses are going up, scattered all up and down two blocks. Really making a difference.

The crane in the background is Ranken's new building:

^ It’s good to see infill up north like this even if the buildings aren’t the most attractive 👍

Agreed - I'm excited to see if Ranken can become an anchor for growing and infilling that area. If I remember correctly they are building homes around their campus also.

Correct. The school has no plans to move the Finney Ave. campus.  Ranken owns land in the area.  There have been discussions about how to expand the campus, and develop the surrounding area, as future projects.

Here's a nice little graphic from the GRG website for the Hodiamont line:

The first few homes are finished, and many more are under construction. Rankin's new building is just out of sight to the left of the first pic, and the whole project now reaches all the way to McCormack Barron's North Sarah apartment project.

I'm happy to see the new construction!  But from an aesthetic  perspective, why hipped roofs instead of flat?  Seems a bit out of place in the neighborhood

That's no good. Sorry to hear about this. I hope you find a home that you want to live in soon and that has better customer service reps.
