Your comments about the cedar we chose to use on the exterior echo many remarks people have made. To remedy that, we are going to replace it with a metal cladding substitute that will give it a more modern look.

How safe are these homes in bad weather and wind? Just curious, they look amazing on the inside!

Since you are going to remove the cedar, won't that add to more waste and thus lower your rating? Just curious on how these things work.

Juice -- Our homes are built to withstand extremely severe wind conditions. This is due to the fact that they must be delivered via the highway to site.

TJ -- I should have been more specific in my post. We're actually retrofitting the cladding to go right over the cedar. We've done one strip as a test and it looks great.

Thanks for the questions, guys...

Have you considered contacting Dwell magazine to do a story on your homes? They have some contributing writers in STL already and this (modern urban infill, prefab especially) is the kind of development for which they are most passionate.

RBB-

Totally agree with you. I've emailed their editorial staff, but as you can imagaine they are hard to get to.

You know of folks in town who contribute to Dwell? I'm all ears...

Maybe Bonwich can help here? I know there are P-D writers who've contributed articles to Dwell in the past. I'll see if I can dig up any names from old magazines when I get home.

EDIT:

William Lamb of the P-D wrote this article for Dwell in April of '06.
