Just found out about this. You can go and give suggestions on how to make downtown more pedestrian friendly:

Steve Patterson of "Urban Review - St. Louis" also gave his initial thoughts on the traffic study.

8th, 11th and Walnut going 2-way, a Tucker road-diet, and changed vehicular access via MRB/PSB changes are all long-term aspects of the study. The more immediate changes will be quick-fixes at various problem intersections, including Memorial Drive. For these, there are some 50-plus recommended spot modifications. Does anyone have these as a list (missing from linked presentation) or have any comments on these?

I recently got the same sensation on a downtown St. Louis sidewalk as I do when walking in Chicago or DC. The stream of people moving together toward destinations. You have to hop in and hop out of the mass. It was great!
