The Downtown St. Louis Partnership is proud to partner with American Express and Beringer Wines to bring the first "Downtown Restaurant Week" to St. Louis the week of August 22nd thru 27th. Restaurant Weeks are a part of over 20 major cities' annual schedule of events. Twenty of downtown's finest dining establishments will offer a special dining promotion of three-course dinners for a fixed price of $25 per person, plus tip, plus tax.

There will be no passes to buy, coupons to carry or cards to punch. Patrons can simply attend the participating restaurant of their choice from Monday August 22nd-Saturday August 27th. As part of the promotion, restaurants will also offer Restaurant Week specific red and white Beringer wines for $5 per glass.

Downtown Restaurant Week will be a splendid opportunity to rediscover a long time favorite or experience one of St. Louis' hot new eateries. Restaurant Week includes the following fine dining establishments: An American Place, Anthony's, Carmine's Steakhouse, Charlie Gitto's, Harry's, Kitchen K, Lucas Park Grille, Mike Shannon's, Mosaic, Red Moon, Sen Thai, The Pepper Lounge, Wasabi, 400 Olive (Hilton Hotel), Capri (Renaissance), Clark Street Grill (Westin Hotel), J.F. Sanfilippo's (Drury Hotel), Lombardo's Trattoria (Drury Union Station), Mahogany Grill (Omni Hotel) and the Washington Ave Bistro (Renaissance).

Trying to decide between Lucas Park and An American Place. Any suggestions?

I've heard that American Place is booked solid this week - might be tough to get a reservation.

I think I'm going to try a place that I've never visited before, like the Clark Street Grill.

You're right, I just called An American Place and they're booked solid all week (even have a waiting list). I guess its Lucas Park. Thanks.

We went to Mosaic last night - there was a decent number of people there (we were fairly early), and the food was good. Since we were esentially buying less than $25 worth of food, they gave us a glass of wine for free.

Due to the overwhelming success of Restaurant week, a number of restaurants will be extending the event for another week (until Sept. 3) Apparently, wait lists averaged 200-800 guests! I think people are beginning to catch on the downtown is where it's at!

That's really good news, and exciting to see so many people interested in the restaurants downtown.

That's great news. Hopefully, the next time there is a Restaurant Week, there will be even more downtown restaurants to choose from!

Most of it was at An American Place. We went to Red Moon last friday. I was a little disappointed in the $25 menu, but the food was good. I had eaten there before and the food was much better ordering off the regular menu. The $25 menu was just a little bland compared to the rest of the menu.
