Does anyone know of bars/restaurants that let dogs inside or let them sit on the patio? South Side preferred, but anywhere else is ok.

This isn't for a discussion on whether dogs should be in bars or not. I'm only looking for places that currently allow it. Thanks in advance for considering that before you answer the question.

The Shanti in Soulard allows dogs on their patio. Also I'm pretty sure the Soulard Coffee Garden has a dog-friendly outdoor seating area as well. There may be more

I'm guessing this isn't erina's first time on a forum.

Hartford Coffee Company.

Mokabee's

Quite a few places in the CWE I can think of offhand - Rosie's, the Majestic

Don't try the Forest Park Boat House. Despite what their web site says (or said last time we checked), they turned us and the world's cutest puppy away. Heartless SOBs!

The City of St. Louis is the only municipality in the state that allows dogs on restaurant patios and under sidewalk tables, though the practice is still not legal in several wards.

It is technically illegal everywhere else in every other muni in MO.

Most places in Downtown, CWE and Soulard don't seem to mind. Off the top of my head Bar Louie, Cartel, Culpeppers, SubZero, Dressel's, Flannery's, Gelateria, Chavas, Soulard Coffee Garden, Hammerstone's and Joanie's. I always ask first regardless, but most of those places will even provide water.

If I see a dog enter a restaurant without a blind person following it, I'm out.

That said, when i was moving up here last year, there was a girl who worked for Teavanna in the Galleria, and she was offering us advice about where to live. She rented from Ramled somewhere in, wait for it, Dogtown, and she went on an on about how dog-friendly all the restaurants and business were. So try there.

It was already mentioned... but Hammerstone's is very dog friendly. They have dog water bowls and will usually grab one and fill it up for you.

I think the RFT or someone did a poll on this topic last year and I think Hammerstone's was listed among the most dog friendly.

Why would it matter if ther person following is blind or not?

See, I don't have anything against dogs, but I hate blind people. So we share exact opposite opinions.

That was a joke, of course.

Ideally I'm looking for one tonight. Preferably south side in the Bevo/Princeton Heights/Southtown area that has a beergarden I can take her to. I've already called Doc Haus (maybe) and Supers Bungalow (no). Bonus if it's in walking distance from Christy Park.

Because the dog is helping them get around, so there's a pretty good justification for the critter being in there.

Cause there are many people who don't want dogs around while they are eating. Heck, there are lots of people who don't want pets around period.

Isn't the dog yes/no debate in some other thread? I'm trying to find places that are past that and are known places that allow dogs in beergardens/inside/on the patio. If somewhere is an unknown, I'll call first. I won't just show up with her and get all pissy if they don't allow pets. I think Jess is a great girl and can behave in public and I'm looking for places that already accomodate that . I'm not trying to force a non pet-friendly place into catering to my whim to bring her out.

Mississippi Mud on Cherokee at Illinois Ave. is VERY dog friendly. I've had my dog on the patios at the Royale and Atomic Cowboy as well.

You can lead a dog to a bar, but you can't make him drink.
