I'm honestly surprised that it lasted this long. After all, we had some dude who said he knew the winner at the end of the previous week writing here that he knew the winner, that all competitors had been called about it, and that he'd keep that secret. With all the players involved, that's one helluva secret to keep quiet.
And, I agree with Bonwich that, ideally, this would've been best under the purview of the "traditional" media. However, with media sources now including Twitter feeds, how much harder is it to control disseminating information? Could this have stayed quiet?
And with that viewpoint, I don't think this bodes negatively for the future of the Arch Grounds projects, including for fundraising, although it's a lot more downplayed than if it had been the huge unveiling it could be in a no-leak world.
